Overall, the Chicago Wings soccer team concluded a successful 2025 outdoor season by finishing 3rd in the very competitive Greater Chicago Soccer League’s Major Division. The WINGS finished with a very respectable 8 Wins, 2 Ties, 4 Loss record scoring 36 goals and allowing 20.
The first half of the 2025 season produced a very promising start with the team winning five games and losing only twice after 7 games played. The fans and team had high hopes for a good second half in order to climb up the standings in order to gain a top 2 finish. The beginning of the second half of the season saw the WINGS SC continue their positive play, winning the next 3 matches, and drawing once. At this point in the season, the WINGS record was 8 Wins, 1 Tie, 2 loss, and battling for 2nd place with rival Ukrainian Lions. Unfortunately, the WINGS were not able to maintain this level of play down the stretch, losing 2 of their final 4 matches, managing only 2 ties as their only positive results. While these results dropped them to 3rd, 6 points behind their rival Ukrainian Lions team, the club was happy with how well they competed during the season against some of the best clubs in the area.
After the regular season concluded, WINGS SC participated in the Major Division league Challenge Cup. While the WINGS team struggled to produce a win in this round robin competition, they were still able to remain confident that they are able to compete at this highest level of soccer.
