12-year-old Ukrainian athlete sets world age record with four-meter pole vault

Matvii Strokhaliov, a 12-year-old Ukrainian track and field athlete, cleared four meters in the pole vault, setting the best result in his age category worldwide.

The Ukrainian Athletics Federation reports this.

After performing at the Ukrainian High Jump Championship, Matvii shared that he did not expect such heights.

Matvii Strokhaliov explained that strong winds during the warm-up made him doubt he could clear the bar. However, he successfully achieved the record height after switching to a new pole.
