Newly formed SITCH Over-30 team compete in the Garden State Soccer league’s (GSSL) OVER-30 division. Currently, SITCH sits in 6th place in the 9 team division with a 2 Wins, 5 Loss record.
SITCH opened the season with a 2-0 loss to Hoboken SC. The game was a close one but 2 defensive lapses were the difference. SITCH rebounded nicely in their second game, defeating the EVOLUTION Soccer team by a score of 3-1. Dan Lewycky led the way with 1 goal and 2 assists in the game. The next 3 games were rough, however, losing all 3 to very tough opponents. First, it was Ironbound SC who recorded a 6-1 win against SITCH. Then, it was Internationale SC who shut out the SITCH boys by a score of 3-0. The next game was a battle, but SITCH came up short of a 4-2 score against the Den Of Lions SC. Mykola Kucyna and Didier Loaiza scored for the SITCH squad. SITCH split the last 2 games of the FALL season, first, winning 7-0 against White Eagles SC which was highlighted by a 3 goal & 3 assist performance by Dan Lewycky. The last game before the winter break was a 2-1 loss to Bosnjak, Jason Mansilla picked up the lone goal for SITCH.
In NJ STATE CUP-OVER 30 action, SITCH’s opening game was played away against Fair Haven. The team looked sharp from the opening whistle and appeared to have scored an early goal. However, the goal was called back for an apparent offsides. SITCH continued to pressure the home squad and eventually, their good play paid off in a big way. Jason Mansilla led the team with an impresive 4 goal performance as SITCH moves on to the next round with a 5-2 victory. Their opponent in the quarterfinal will be Sportfriends Kubla XI and scheduled to be played in the SPRING 2021.
