2/26/26 – The SFC 1924 (SITCH Over-30) soccer team started their 2026 season with a bang winning the West Orange Armory indoor league title with a 3-2 win over Parsippany SC. The final was held at West Orange, NJ’s Soccer Palace, and as the 3-2 score indicates, was a very competitive match from beginning to end.
The game started with both teams showing great respect for each other, playing cautiously, maintaining possession, and waiting for an opportunity to pounce on a defensive mistake. The first opportunity came to SITCH, with newcomer Seyi Adekoya taking advantage of a loose ball, and blasting his shot past the Parsippany keeper, who had no chance to make the save. A few minutes later, however, Parsippany were able to tie the score 1-1 on a perfectly executed counter-attack, the shot well placed over the diving SITCH goalie.
The goal was a reminder of how quickly things can turn around indoors. Thankfully, the SITCH team woke up, and once again began to apply more pressure on their opponent’s defense, creating turnovers and chances on goal. The high pressure eventually paid off as SITCH’s forward Peter Luce scored twice to give the Ukrainians a comfortable, for the time being anyway, 3-1 lead.

Parsippany showed they were not going away without a fight, however, and began to apply some pressure of their own. Their pressure paid off because with less than 5 minutes to play, they received a gift, a SITCH own goal, to make it 3-2, and giving them hope for a late comeback. Remaining calm, SITCH once again responded well after giving up a goal, tightened up their defense, and finished the game strong, keeping the other teams chances to tie at a minimum.
When the final whistle blew, the SITCH fans in attendance cheered and congratulated the champions on a well deserved title.
